The 10 Best AI Visibility Tools for 2026
Marketers spent years getting comfortable with Google rankings. We knew what to measure: keywords, positions, clicks, backlinks, organic traffic.
AI search has made that considerably messier.
A business can rank well in Google and still be practically invisible when someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or Google AI Mode for recommendations. Worse, your competitor might be the brand AI recommends instead.
That’s the problem AI visibility tools are trying to solve.
The best AI visibility tools monitor how often your brand appears in AI-generated answers, which competitors appear instead, what sources get cited, how sentiment changes, and—in the better platforms—what you can actually do about it.
I’ve narrowed the field to ten tools that approach the problem in meaningfully different ways.
Some are dedicated AI visibility platforms. Others combine AI search tracking with traditional SEO or content optimization.
And that’s an important distinction, because you probably don’t need another $100-to-$500 monthly subscription just because somebody slapped “GEO” on a dashboard.
Gary’s Quick Picks
If you don’t want to read all ten reviews, here’s where I’d start:
- Best overall: Writesonic
- Best for SEO + AI visibility: Semrush
- Best value dedicated AI visibility platform: SE Ranking’s SE Visible
- Best pure AI visibility analytics: Peec AI
- Best for enterprise: Profound
- Best affordable standalone tracker: Otterly AI
- Best for content teams: Surfer
- Best content creation + GEO workflow: Frase
The biggest decision isn’t necessarily which tool has the longest feature list. It’s whether you need measurement, SEO + measurement, or measurement + the ability to act on what you find.
That’s where these platforms start separating themselves.

What Is an AI Visibility Tool?
An AI visibility tool measures how your brand, website, products, or content appear in AI-generated search results and answers.
That’s different from traditional rank tracking.
Google SEO might tell you that your page ranks fourth for “best email marketing software.” AI visibility software tries to answer questions like:
- Does ChatGPT recommend your company when somebody asks about email marketing software?
- Does Gemini mention your competitor instead?
- Does Perplexity cite your website?
- Which websites are influencing those answers?
- Is AI describing your brand positively or negatively?
- How much AI share of voice do you have compared with competitors?
If the terminology itself still feels fuzzy, Growth Gary’s guide to AI visibility goes deeper into what you’re actually measuring and why it matters.
The important thing to understand here is that there isn’t yet one universal “AI ranking.”
Different platforms measure prompts, mentions, citations, sentiment, answer position, sources, competitors and share of voice differently. Coverage of individual AI engines also varies significantly.
That’s why comparing these products based solely on an “AI Visibility Score” isn’t particularly useful.
How I Evaluated the Best AI Visibility Tools
This isn’t a claim that I personally ran laboratory tests across all ten platforms. The rankings are an analytical comparison based on current product capabilities, positioning, pricing and practical usefulness.
I looked primarily at:
- AI engines monitored
- Prompt tracking
- Brand mention tracking
- Citation and source tracking
- Competitor analysis
- Share of voice
- Sentiment analysis
- Historical reporting
- Traditional SEO capabilities
- Content optimization
- Ability to turn insights into action
- Agency and team functionality
- Pricing and prompt limits
That last one deserves more attention than it usually gets.
A $29 tool isn’t necessarily cheaper than a $99 tool if the $29 plan gives you a fraction of the prompts or charges extra for the AI engines you actually need.
Compare what you’re buying—not just the number on the pricing page.
1. Writesonic — Best Overall for AI Visibility
Writesonic has evolved well beyond being an AI writing tool. Its current platform combines AI search visibility, content creation, SEO auditing and workflows designed to actually improve the visibility it’s measuring.
That’s why it gets my top spot.
What Writesonic Does
Writesonic’s AI Search Visibility functionality can monitor how a brand appears across AI platforms and then connect those insights with content and SEO workflows.
Its Starter and Basic plans currently track ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Higher-tier enterprise coverage expands significantly, with Writesonic listing ten AI platforms including Perplexity, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Copilot, Meta AI and Google AI Mode.
Why It Made the List
The differentiator is the loop between finding a visibility problem and doing something about it.
A pure monitoring platform might tell you that competitors are beating you across a group of prompts.
Useful.
Writesonic can also connect that intelligence to content, site audits and optimization workflows. That’s much closer to what most marketers actually want.
Key Strengths
- AI brand visibility tracking
- Prompt monitoring
- Competitor intelligence
- Sentiment analysis on higher tiers
- AI content creation
- SEO/site auditing
- Visibility and content workflows in one platform
Best For
Marketing teams that want one system covering AI visibility, SEO and content rather than assembling several specialized tools.
Pros
- Strong combination of monitoring and action
- Mature AI content capabilities
- SEO and GEO under one roof
- Daily prompt tracking
- Scales into much broader AI-engine coverage
Cons
- Broader AI-engine coverage can require higher tiers
- More platform than a business needs if it only wants simple monitoring
- Pricing rises quickly as requirements become more sophisticated
Pricing
Writesonic currently lists Starter at $79/month billed annually, Basic at $199 and Growth at $399, with enterprise pricing available separately. Starter includes 50 tracked prompts and a free trial.
Gary’s Take
Writesonic is where I’d start if the goal is not merely to measure AI visibility but improve it.
If you only want a dashboard showing whether ChatGPT mentions your company, it’s probably more software than you need.
If you’re building AI search into an actual marketing program, the broader workflow makes much more sense.
2. Semrush — Best for Combining SEO and AI Visibility
Semrush has an advantage that most dedicated AI visibility startups don’t: it’s already an established SEO platform.
That matters.
AI search hasn’t replaced Google SEO. Marketers increasingly need to understand both.
What Semrush Does
Semrush’s AI Visibility Toolkit monitors brand performance in AI search and includes AI visibility analysis, competitor research, prompt research, prompt tracking and AI-focused site auditing.
The current Base AI Visibility plan tracks mentions across ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity.
Why It Made the List
The value isn’t simply “Semrush now tracks AI.”
It’s the ability to put AI visibility alongside keyword research, technical SEO, competitive analysis and the rest of an established search stack.
That becomes particularly useful if your team already lives in Semrush.
Key Strengths
- AI visibility analysis
- Competitor research
- Prompt research
- Daily prompt tracking
- AI-readiness site auditing
- Massive traditional SEO ecosystem
Best For
SEO teams that want AI visibility integrated into a broader search strategy.
Pros
- Excellent traditional SEO capabilities
- AI competitor intelligence
- Strong prompt research
- Familiar ecosystem for existing Semrush users
- Good bridge between SEO and GEO
Cons
- AI visibility is an additional cost
- Less focused on directly fixing content than content-centric platforms
- Can become expensive when multiple Semrush products are stacked together
Pricing
Semrush currently lists its AI Visibility Base plan at $99 per month per domain when billed annually. It includes 25 tracked custom prompts, one domain for Brand Performance, competitor analysis and prompt research. There is currently no free trial for this toolkit.
Gary’s Take
If you’re already paying for Semrush, I’d look very carefully at its AI visibility offering before buying another standalone tool.
One dashboard that your team actually uses usually beats four clever dashboards everybody forgets the password to.
3. SE Ranking / SE Visible — Best Value for SEO and AI Visibility
SE Ranking has taken an interesting approach by developing SE Visible as a dedicated AI visibility product while maintaining its broader SEO platform.
That gives marketers flexibility.
What SE Visible Does
SE Visible monitors brand mentions, sentiment, competitors and sources across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity.
The broader SE Ranking platform also offers AI visibility tracking alongside conventional SEO tools.
Why It Made the List
The pricing-to-tracking ratio is competitive.
SE Visible’s Basic plan currently includes 200 prompts and approximately 12,000 AI answers analyzed per month across three projects. That’s considerably more tracking capacity than several similarly priced alternatives.
Key Strengths
- Five major AI environments
- Visibility and sentiment tracking
- Competitor benchmarking
- Source analysis
- Multi-project support
- Agency-oriented capabilities
Best For
SMBs, SEO teams and agencies that want substantial AI tracking without immediately jumping into enterprise pricing.
Pros
- Generous prompt allowance
- Good AI-engine coverage
- Dedicated visibility product
- Strong traditional SEO ecosystem available
- Agency-friendly positioning
Cons
- Product structure can be confusing because SE Ranking has multiple AI-search offerings
- Content optimization isn’t as central as it is with Frase or Surfer
- Advanced tiers become substantially more expensive
Pricing
SE Visible currently starts at $99/month, with 200 prompts, three projects and a 10-day free trial. Core starts at $189 and Plus at $355.
Gary’s Take
This is one I’d put high on the shortlist for a small or midsized marketing team.
The reason is boring—in a good way.
You’re getting a meaningful amount of monitoring for the money without paying enterprise prices for an enterprise dashboard you don’t need.
4. Peec AI — Best Dedicated AI Visibility Analytics Platform
Peec AI is different from Semrush or Surfer because AI visibility isn’t an extra feature attached to another product.
It’s the product.
What Peec AI Does
Peec tracks AI search performance using metrics including visibility, position and sentiment, while providing competitor and citation-source intelligence.
Current model choices include ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity and Gemini, with plan limits determining how many models can be selected.
Why It Made the List
Peec keeps the focus relatively tight:
Set up the prompts that matter, track visibility across AI systems, understand competitors and citations, and use the data to guide your strategy.
There’s value in a tool knowing what it wants to be.
Key Strengths
- Daily prompt tracking
- Visibility tracking
- Position monitoring
- Sentiment
- Competitor benchmarking
- Citation/source intelligence
- Multi-country capabilities
- Agency plans
Best For
SEO, content and brand teams that want serious AI-search analytics without buying another full traditional SEO suite.
Pros
- Purpose-built for AI search
- Clean focus on actionable visibility metrics
- Flexible model selection
- Unlimited users on brand plans
- Strong agency options
Cons
- Not a replacement for a full SEO platform
- Content creation isn’t the main product
- Additional model requirements affect the economics
Pricing
Peec currently lists its brand Starter plan at $95/month, including 50 prompts, three selected models, daily tracking, unlimited users and one project. Higher tiers expand prompts and projects.
Gary’s Take
Peec is one of the more interesting choices if you already have your SEO and content stack figured out.
You’re not buying Peec because you need another keyword research tool.
You’re buying it because you specifically want to understand AI search.
I like that clarity.
5. Profound — Best for Enterprise AI Visibility
Profound is aiming further upmarket than many tools on this list.
Its Answer Engine Insights product goes beyond simple mention counting into visibility, citations, sentiment, share of voice, positioning and deeper brand analysis.
What Profound Does
Profound sends tracked prompts to AI answer engines and analyzes the responses.
Its broader platform also includes Agent Analytics, prompt-volume intelligence and agent-based content workflows.
Why It Made the List
Profound treats AEO as an enterprise marketing discipline rather than a little SEO add-on.
That’s probably excessive for a local plumber.
For a multinational brand trying to understand how AI represents products across markets? Very different story.
Key Strengths
- Visibility and share of voice
- Citation analysis
- Sentiment
- Competitive positioning
- AI traffic/agent analytics
- Enterprise controls
- AEO-oriented workflows
Best For
Large brands, enterprise marketing departments and agencies running sophisticated AEO programs.
Pros
- Deep AI-search analytics
- Strong brand-perception functionality
- Enterprise scalability
- Content/action capabilities beyond monitoring
- Broad measurement philosophy
Cons
- Advanced capabilities get expensive
- Entry plan has limited engine coverage
- Overkill for many small businesses
Pricing
Profound’s Starter plan currently begins at $99/month billed annually, but it tracks ChatGPT only and 50 prompts. Growth is $399/month and expands to three answer engines and 100 prompts. Enterprise pricing is custom.
Gary’s Take
Profound is impressive, but don’t buy an aircraft carrier because you need a canoe.
For enterprise brands where AI perception is becoming a boardroom-level issue, Profound deserves serious consideration.
For a small company trying to figure out whether ChatGPT mentions it? Start smaller.
6. Otterly AI — Best Affordable Dedicated AI Visibility Tracker
Otterly AI makes a strong case for businesses that want AI monitoring without immediately spending hundreds per month.
What Otterly AI Does
Otterly tracks prompts daily and monitors Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot on its standard coverage. Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are available as add-ons.
Why It Made the List
Accessibility.
The entry price makes Otterly a relatively low-risk way to start systematically tracking AI visibility.
Key Strengths
- Daily monitoring
- Multiple AI engines
- Brand reporting
- GEO auditing
- Prompt tracking
- Higher plans support larger tracking programs
Best For
Small businesses, consultants and marketers who want dedicated AI monitoring without a large software commitment.
Pros
- Low entry price
- Purpose-built AI monitoring
- Daily tracking
- Straightforward concept
- Easy entry into AI visibility measurement
Cons
- Only 15 prompts on Lite
- Some important engines require add-ons
- Doesn’t replace your content optimization stack
- Costs rise substantially at larger prompt volumes
Pricing
Otterly’s current Lite plan is $29/month, or roughly $25/month with annual billing, and includes 15 prompts. Standard and Premium increase prompt capacity substantially.
Gary’s Take
If you’re reading this article thinking, “I’m interested, Gary, but I’m not spending $400 a month to find out whether robots like me,” Otterly makes sense.
Start small.
Figure out whether AI visibility data actually changes your marketing decisions.
Then spend more if the answer is yes.
7. Surfer — Best for Content Teams Focused on AI Visibility
Surfer built its reputation around content optimization, and that’s still the reason I’d consider it.
The addition of AI visibility tracking means a content team can now connect what it’s publishing with how the brand appears in AI-generated answers.
What Surfer Does
Surfer’s AI Tracker monitors visibility, mention gaps and competitive share of voice. Current coverage includes environments such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode.
Surfer then combines that intelligence with its existing content optimization workflows.
Why It Made the List
Content is still one of the major levers marketers can actually control.
Surfer connects measurement with a mature optimization platform rather than stopping at another graph.
Key Strengths
- AI visibility tracking
- Prompt tracking
- Competitive share of voice
- Content Editor
- Content optimization
- Topical planning
- Content auditing
Best For
SEO and content teams producing or optimizing substantial amounts of organic content.
Pros
- Excellent content workflow
- AI and Google optimization together
- Established content optimization product
- Visibility insights connect naturally to content execution
Cons
- Dedicated AI trackers may offer deeper analytics
- Can be expensive if you’re buying it only for AI monitoring
- Probably unnecessary if you already have another content optimization platform you like
Pricing
Surfer currently lists Standard at $99/month billed annually, including 25 AI prompts refreshed weekly. Pro is $182/month with 50 prompts refreshed daily.
Gary’s Take
I wouldn’t buy Surfer just because you need an AI visibility dashboard.
I’d buy Surfer because content optimization is already an important part of your strategy, and AI visibility makes that platform more valuable.
That’s a much better reason.
8. Sitechecker — Best for Website Monitoring + AI Traffic
Sitechecker approaches AI visibility from a particularly practical angle: not just whether AI mentions you, but whether AI is actually sending visitors who do something.
What Sitechecker Does
Its AI visibility tools combine AI brand monitoring, Google AI Overview visibility and GA4-based AI traffic analysis.
That means Sitechecker can show sessions from AI sources, the pages receiving them, engagement behavior and conversions. It also tracks brand mentions and citations across AI systems.
Why It Made the List
Traffic and conversions are the part of AI visibility I ultimately care about most.
A visibility score is nice.
Revenue is nicer.
Key Strengths
- AI brand monitoring
- Citation monitoring
- Google AI Overview tracking
- Competitor benchmarking
- AI traffic analysis
- GA4 conversion measurement
- Traditional website monitoring
Best For
Agencies, consultants and SEO teams that want AI visibility connected to actual website performance.
Pros
- Strong GA4 integration
- Connects visibility to traffic
- Conversion measurement
- Traditional SEO/site monitoring included
- Agency-friendly features
Cons
- AI visibility isn’t the platform’s sole focus
- Dedicated AEO platforms go deeper in some areas
- Higher tracking limits can become expensive
Pricing
Sitechecker currently starts at $99/month, or $83/month with annual billing. Plans include prompt tracking for ChatGPT and Gemini, with limits increasing by tier.
Gary’s Take
I like Sitechecker’s emphasis on what happens after AI visibility.
Being cited 200 times sounds wonderful.
Did anybody visit your site?
Did anybody buy anything?
Those are still fairly important questions.
9. Frase — Best for AI-Focused Content Optimization
Frase sits in an interesting position between AI visibility monitoring and content execution.
Its core argument is essentially: don’t just tell me where I’m losing visibility—help me fix the content.
What Frase Does
Frase combines SEO and GEO content scoring, AI visibility monitoring, content creation, auditing and publishing workflows.
Its free visibility checker can examine citations across platforms including ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, while paid plans integrate ongoing AI visibility into the broader content workflow.
Why It Made the List
Frase makes sense for teams where the person looking at the visibility report is also responsible for creating or updating content.
Less dashboard hopping. More doing.
Key Strengths
- AI visibility monitoring
- SEO + GEO content scoring
- Content briefs
- AI content creation
- Content auditing
- CMS publishing
- Ongoing content optimization
Best For
Small and midsized content teams that want creation, optimization and AI visibility in one workflow.
Pros
- Affordable starting point
- Strong content workflow
- SEO and GEO optimization
- Visibility monitoring built into content operations
- Free trial
Cons
- Not as analytics-focused as Peec or Profound
- Entry plan has lighter AI visibility capabilities
- Less suitable if you only need enterprise-scale monitoring
Pricing
Frase currently starts at $39/month billed annually ($49 month-to-month). Starter includes SEO/GEO scoring and AI visibility across ChatGPT and Google AI. Professional is $103/month annually and expands AI visibility capabilities and prompt limits.
Gary’s Take
Frase might be the sleeper pick on this list for a smaller content-driven business.
If you need content optimization anyway, getting AI visibility in the same system can make much more financial sense than paying separately for a dedicated monitoring platform.
Simple usually wins.
10. Goodie AI — Best Dedicated End-to-End AEO Platform
Goodie is taking a more comprehensive approach to AEO.
Rather than positioning itself simply as a tracker, Goodie describes its platform as a closed loop covering research, monitoring, optimization and measurement.
What Goodie AI Does
Goodie’s Explorer tier monitors ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity while incorporating optimization actions and revenue attribution.
Higher tiers expand engine coverage and add functionality such as prompt research and agentic-commerce visibility. Enterprise coverage can extend to as many as 11 AI models.
Why It Made the List
Goodie is interesting because it’s trying to solve the complete AEO workflow rather than one piece of it.
The catch?
You pay accordingly.
Key Strengths
- AI visibility monitoring
- AEO research
- Optimization actions
- Revenue attribution
- Prompt research
- Broad engine coverage at higher tiers
- Enterprise capabilities
Best For
Companies treating AEO as a serious acquisition channel rather than an experimental marketing metric.
Pros
- End-to-end AEO philosophy
- Revenue attribution
- Monitoring plus optimization
- Advanced engine coverage
- Strong enterprise direction
Cons
- Expensive starting point
- Too much platform for beginners
- Higher-end capabilities require larger plans
Pricing
Goodie’s Explorer plan currently starts at $399/month, with 100 prompts and 3,000 AI responses per month across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity. A seven-day trial is available.
Gary’s Take
Goodie is one I’d watch closely.
But at $399 a month to get through the door, I’d want AI search to already matter to my business.
Don’t spend enterprise-ish money trying to prove you have a problem.
Prove the problem first. Then buy the machinery.
Should You Use a Dedicated AI Visibility Tool or an SEO Platform?
This might be the most important buying decision in the article.
You can roughly divide the market into three camps.
| Type | Examples | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Dedicated AI visibility | Peec AI, Otterly AI, Profound | Deep AI-search measurement |
| SEO + AI visibility | Semrush, SE Ranking, Sitechecker | Teams managing Google and AI search together |
| Content + AI visibility | Writesonic, Surfer, Frase | Teams that want to find gaps and create/fix content |
There’s no inherent advantage to buying a dedicated tool.
If your team already uses Semrush every day, adding its AI visibility functionality might be considerably easier than introducing another platform.
If you’re running a sophisticated GEO program across several brands, Peec or Profound may provide the specialization you actually need.
And if the main response to poor AI visibility is going to be creating and improving content, Writesonic, Surfer or Frase may eliminate steps from the workflow.
Remember that traditional search isn’t suddenly irrelevant. Growth Gary’s comparison of traditional SEO vs. AI search explains why the two increasingly need to work together rather than compete for your attention.
How to Choose an AI Visibility Tool
Don’t start by comparing feature checklists.
Start with what you’re actually trying to accomplish.
1. Decide which AI engines matter
Don’t pay for nine AI engines because nine sounds better than four.
If your customers primarily use ChatGPT and Google, start there.
2. Decide how many prompts you genuinely need
Fifty carefully selected commercial prompts can be more useful than tracking 1,000 random questions.
Prompt limits are also one of the biggest drivers of cost.
3. Look at tracking frequency
Weekly monitoring might be perfectly adequate for a small business.
An agency or major brand running active campaigns may want daily monitoring.
4. Decide whether you still need traditional SEO
You probably do.
If you don’t already have a strong SEO platform, something like Semrush or SE Ranking can potentially solve more than one problem.
5. Decide whether you want measurement or action
This is a big one.
Monitoring tools tell you what’s happening.
Optimization platforms try to help change what’s happening.
Neither approach is inherently better. But don’t pay for the second if you only need the first.
6. Check competitor capabilities
Your visibility score means more when you know whether your biggest competitor is at 12% or 72%.
Competitive share of voice can often reveal more than your absolute number.
7. Look at citations, not just mentions
A mention tells you that an AI system knows about your brand.
A citation can tell you which sources are helping shape the answer.
That gives marketers something actionable to investigate. Growth Gary’s guide to how to improve AI visibility goes further into those optimization opportunities.
8. Calculate the real price
Don’t compare:
Tool A: $29
Tool B: $99
Compare:
prompts × engines × tracking frequency × projects × users
Then look at what each subscription actually gives you.
That’s the number that matters.
Best AI Visibility Tool by Use Case
| Use Case | My Pick |
|---|---|
| Best overall | Writesonic |
| Best SEO + AI visibility | Semrush |
| Best value dedicated tracking | SE Visible |
| Best pure AI visibility analytics | Peec AI |
| Best for small businesses | Otterly AI |
| Best for enterprise | Profound |
| Best for content teams | Surfer |
| Best content + GEO value | Frase |
| Best for AI traffic measurement | Sitechecker |
| Best end-to-end AEO platform | Goodie AI |
Other AI Visibility Tools to Consider
Two other platforms worth watching are Trendos and Scrunch.
Trendos is particularly interesting because it currently provides free access to core AI brand visibility data, including historical visibility, source intelligence and competitor benchmarking.
Scrunch is another established player in the AI visibility category and deserves consideration for organizations evaluating a broader field of dedicated platforms.
Neither needs to be dismissed because it didn’t make this particular top ten. This market is moving quickly enough that today’s #11 can easily become tomorrow’s #4.
That’s another reason I wouldn’t sign up for five different AI-search subscriptions just yet.
Which AI Visibility Tool Should You Choose?
For most marketing teams that want one platform covering measurement and action, I’d start with Writesonic.
If traditional SEO remains a major part of your acquisition strategy—and it probably should—Semrush deserves a hard look because you’re combining established SEO intelligence with AI visibility rather than building another silo.
For a dedicated AI visibility platform, I’d look closely at Peec AI and SE Visible.
For a small business just beginning to measure this stuff, Otterly AI gives you a much less expensive entry point.
For a content-heavy organization, I’d compare Surfer and Frase before paying separately for monitoring and content optimization.
And if you’re running AI visibility across a large brand or sophisticated enterprise program, Profound and Goodie become much more interesting.
But there’s one other option.
Don’t buy anything yet.
If you’re a small business with limited content, little organic authority and no clear evidence that AI search is influencing your customers, manually checking a carefully selected group of prompts may tell you enough to start.
Once you find yourself saying, “I can’t keep tracking this manually anymore,” software has earned its place.
That’s the threshold I like.
Tools should solve problems—not give us prettier ways to admire them.

A short briefing that filters the noise into useful AI, marketing, technology, tools, and ideas for marketers and businesses.
